GGA Challenge #16 - Pick your own Palooza!

  • Challenge Period: Monday 8/2/21 to Sunday 8/15/21
  • Deadline for Submitting Proof: Wednesday 8/17/21 by 11:59 pm
  • Points Apply to: August drawing with prizes to be awarded at the September event

Hydropalooza is a long time GGA event tradition. This year hydropalooza is being held on Lake Lanier at Don Carter SP and will be a kayak event! Your challenge this period is to pick your own palooza theme!

The theme is up to you! You can do “animalpalooza” and find caches with animal names in it. You can do “geoartpalooza” and find caches that are part of a geoart! (There may be a new GGA themed one you could use ????). Fan of concerts? Do “musicpalooza” and find caches related to bands or tunes. Like palindromes? Do “tacocat palooza” and spell out a palindrome or two with cache names. You’re only limited by your own imagination! We can’t wait to learn of all the fun paloozas people come up with!

Wanderer level - Find 3 caches for your palooza!

Seeker level - Find 6 caches for your palooza!

Explorer level - Find 12 caches for your palooza!

Adventurer level - Find 20 caches for your palooza AND a T5 or D5 cache (This cache must be separate from your T5 substitution option.)

Bonus options: Available for all levels. 

  • You may substitute 3 caches by attending the August GGA event (GC9E4D3) on 8/15 at Don Carter State Park! This means you can reach the Wanderer level just by coming to the event!
  • You may also substitute 2 caches with 1 T5 cache! There may be some new T5 caches dropping at Hydropalooza this year!

Send your proof of completion to ggachallenges2021@gmail.com by the deadline to earn your points and chances in the August drawing! Include the following details in your email (if you are attaching a bookmark list, please make sure that the list is public):

  • Your geo-nick
  • Your real name
  • The level for which you qualify
  • Your qualifying caches with dates found
  • Please tell me if you earned any bonus points.
