GGA Challenge #15 - Summer School!

  • Challenge Period: Monday 7/19/21 to Sunday 8/1/21

How many of you like caches that are educational or teach you something about history? For me personally, these are some of my favorite caches! So our focus for this challenge will be on historical caches. The Georgia State Parks and Historical Sites offer a geotour that features a History Trail. In February, the History Trail was revamped and consists of 19 different caches located all throughout Georgia. These caches are all mystery or puzzle caches that require you to visit a historical site and seek out answers to clues. After completing all 19 caches, you can submit your information and receive a free Georgia Historical Sites geocoin!

For your challenge, you will need to find some of the caches from the History Site trail. Please note, each historical site has it's own hours of operation and may require a small fee for admittance. For those of you who do not live in Georgia or who have already completed the History Trail caches, you may use the alternative method provided. School is now open!

 

Wanderer level - Find 1 Historical Site cache or 3 caches that are mystery, multistage or at a library 

Seeker level - Find 2 Historical Site caches or 6 caches that are mystery, multistage or at a library

Explorer level - Find 3 Historical Site caches or 9 caches that are mystery, multistage or at a library

Adventurer level - Find 4 Historical Site caches or 16 mystery, multistage or at a library

 

Bonus options: Available for all levels. 

  • You may substitute up to 3 caches by taking a picture with yourself and the word GGA in front of a library or school.
  • You may also substitute 3 caches by referring a friend who has not played in the Challenges to complete at least one level of the current challenge (Both of you must submit your proof)

Send your proof of completion to ggachallenges2021@gmail.com by the deadline to earn your points and chances in the August drawing! Include the following details in your email (if you are attaching a bookmark list, please make sure that the list is public):

  • Your geo-nick
  • Your real name
  • The level for which you qualify
  • Your qualifying caches with dates found
  • Please tell me if you earned any bonus points.
