Meeting notes: August 9, 2003
August brought us back once again to the Lanier Museum of Natural History. You know what that means... SNAKES ALIVE!
If that wasn't good enough, we also had a huge BBQ and Brunswick Stew cookout that was staged by excop1313 and Aksor+Rascol. We had a pot luck cookout and it was something to be remembered. It was one of our biggest meetings ever. There were many of our regular members there as well as several new faces. We ate and ate and chatted and generally had a great time.
After getting a good bit of that good food we moved indoors to the Museum and our talk by Dr. Mark Patterson of the Georgia Herpetological Society. This was an exciting and chilling at the same time. Those in the back rows did not escape the snakes as Dr. Mark made sure everyone got up close and personal with the snakes. It is a treat to have this presentation. It is nice to know what is out there so you can identify the poisonous snakes from the friendly snakes.
We did not have any business for this meeting, but we had a lot of fun. Many thanks go out to excop1313 and Aksor+Rascol for all they did to get this meeting together. Lanier Museum had us set up with an excellent place to gather and meet and eat.
Thanks to all that attended.
